What is the Process for Providing Porcelain Veneers?

Your Clearstone dentist will assess the reasons for you wanting Veneers and your suitability for this treatment at the initial consultation stage. If veneers are a suitable treatment option for you and once you have decided to go ahead with the treatment plan, an appointment to prepare your teeth for the porcelain veneers will be made.

Preparing your teeth for ceramic veneers involves removing less than 1mm of your enamel from the front surfaces and edges of your teeth to create the space required for the veneers. Once prepared your dentist will fit temporary veneers (which look very natural) at the same visit. These temporary veneers are kept in place for 7-10 days whilst our skilled technicians use a high strength and highly aesthetic porcelain to create your new veneers.

At the fit stage appointment these veneers will be tried in prior to cementing them in place. This stage is very important to give you the opportunity to make sure you are completely happy with the veneers before cementation.

Once you are completely satisfied and happy with the veneers they are cemented in place with a high strength bonding composite. Your dentist will go through in detail how to care for your new veneers and maintain your new smile.
